for pvm mage, race doesnt really matter. it might be good to be human for 20 tracking, detect, hiding. mage eval necro ss resist anatomy is the usual skills i think. you could run scribe, spellweaving, or w/e. or you could go taming instead. if you were going to train taming, i would reccomend train...

it's been mentioned sampire is a horrible starting class. especially on a server with a population of 1 so theres nobody to help boost you into it. requires a lot of items. if you don't mind being on foot try whammy or perhaps the Tanya mounted whammy build. you still need HML but it's a lot more me...
