According to the stratics website with 80 dex and 120 parry you have a 35% chance to block. Is this accurate for demise?
If both players in a 1v1 have 45 dci and hci and they both have 120 weapon skill, the chance to hit is 50% for each of them correct? When is the parry check applied during combat?
How is parry calculated?
Re: How is parry calculated?
Wearing a shield with all this at play you have 65% block chance if Hld isn't applied.Extremist223 wrote:According to the stratics website with 80 dex and 120 parry you have a 35% chance to block. Is this accurate for demise?

Re: How is parry calculated?
Blocking with a shield:
% Chance = (Parrying - Bushido) / 4 (If less than 0, the chance is 0)
(Add 5% if Parrying or Bushido skill is 100 or above)
% Chance = (Parrying - Bushido) / 4 (If less than 0, the chance is 0)
(Add 5% if Parrying or Bushido skill is 100 or above)

Re: How is parry calculated?
so I did some testing on the test center.. it seems that 85% chance to block is incorrect.
The math to me looks more like:
50% to hit --> 35% chance to block an attacker that hits 50% of the time = .35 *.5= .175 x 100% = 17.5% chance to block
50% miss completely + 17.5% = 67.5% chance to block or miss completely.
In a test on test center at 120 parry 80 dex 45dci, the attacker hit 38 out of 108 times = 35%
without parry, but as a human with +20 parry, the attacker hit 42 out of 86 times, slightly less than 50%, which makes sense given a 5% parry chance from being human.

Re: How is parry calculated?
does a wrestle parry mage have enough offense to win a 1v1 pvp fight?
or.. are we talking about pvm sampires?
hrmm gimp templates for pvp i would ask either servos or chuckles.. imo they are both pretty nit picky and effective. (sorry if i missed others, but it is just from what i have seen currently)
PS.. ask em nicely and they might share their knowledge.
