Animal Taming

Skill Gain Guide: Tame anything you can! It is MUCH faster to raise this skill first before any others as skills gain faster when you have low total skill points.

30 to 35. - Hinds and Timber Wolf
35.1 to 53.1 - Walruses, Polar Bears, or Black Bear
53.1 to 65.1 - Snow Leopards, Panther or Grey Wolf
65.1 to 85 - White Wolves
83.1 to 95.1 - Ridgebacks
95.1 to 110 - Unicorns(females) or Kirins(male)
110 to 120 - Hiryus

Guide for People with access to skill jewelry.
Get as high skill jewelry as you can for taming. Tame the appropriate animals from above until your Real Skill + Jewelry Bonus = 83.1 then just tame ridgeback in the camp until your happy. Be sure to take jewelry off as your skill gains to keep as close to 83.1 as you can without going under.

Reasons to Tame: Uh, you get sweet animals and creatures to follow you around, kill stuff or just sit on them and look pretty. Basically its one of the best PvM skills to have but can be the most annoying to train.

Pet Commands:
Command --- Usable with "All" --- What it does.

Follow --- Yes --- The pet follows the person you target. It will not attack anything.
Come --- Yes --- The pet should come. It will not attack anything, even if it is attacked.
Friend --- No ---The pet treats the targeted player as another owner.
Guard --- Yes --- Commands the pet to guard you. Pets will only guard their owners.
Kill --- Yes --- The pet attacks the creature or person you target.
Release --- No --- Releases the pet into the wilds.
Stay --- Yes --- The pet will stay where it is currently, and will not attack anything.
Stop --- Yes --- The pet stops any current actions.
Transfer --- No --- Transfers ownership of the pet to another player

Stable Slots:
Combined Vet, Lore and Taming --- Stable Slots
160 - 199.9 --- 3
200 - 239.9 --- 4
240+ --- 5
