Ok. We will try to work this out.
Val Hammers: 85-100% intensity
Armor Types I will focus on:
Samurai Plate: Base resists are 5/3/2/3/2 =15 total
Dragon Armor: Base resists are 3/3/3/3/3 =15 total
We will use Valorite ingots which give 4/0/3/3/3 =13 total
And
Black Scales which give: 11/1/1/1/-3 =11 total
BRSK: 50-100% intensity
Armor Types I will focus on:
Studded Samurai Armor: Base resists are 2/4/3/3/4 =16 total
We will use Barbed Leather which gives 2/1/2/3/4 =12 total
Exceptional and Arms Lore Bonuses:
So uoguide is a little sketchy on this, but I believe it works like this on Demise:
An exceptionally made piece of Armor will gain a 6% bonus that is distributed randomly among the base resistances of that item. For example, an exceptionally made Platemail Tunic could have 2% applied to Physical, 2% to Fire, and 1% to each Cold and Poison. Or, and this would be extremely rare, all 6% could be added to Physical.
Exceptionally crafted armor also receives an additional 1% bonus (again randomly distributed) for every 20 points of Arms Lore your character has. The maximum bonus is therefore 11%.
So when applied to our armor types
Valorite Samurai Plate: 8/6/5/6/5 with a max of 19 in Phys or 17 in fire or 16 in cold or 17 in poison or 16 in energy before runic
Black Dragon Armor: 15/4/4/4/0 with a max of 26 in Phys or 15 in fire or 15 in cold or 15 in poison or 11 in energy before runic
Barbed Studded Samurai Armor: 4/5/5/6/8 with a max of 15 in Phys or 16 in fire or 16 in cold or 17 in poison or 19 in energy before runic
Somehow this doesn't seem correct.
So the max intensity for a resist is 15%. This is 100%. For Val Hammer the min would be 15 * .85 = 12.75 [not sure if it rounds up or down] For BRSK the min would be 15 * .5 = 7.5.
This is where things get fuzzy for me. According to these calculations, a Black Dragon armor piece can have 41 physical if it rolls perfect for that resist. I'm fine with the calculation of 34 energy for barbed studded armor and 34 physical for Val samurai plate.
TL;DR : 12-15 resist intensity for Val hammers and 7-15 resist intensities for BRSK
