Modern Nuclear Weapons are insane.

The bombs we dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were fission bombs:
Hiroshima's "Little Boy" gravity bomb 13–18,000 tons of TNT
Nagasaki's "Fat Man" gravity bomb 20–22,000 tons of TNT

a modern nuclear weapon is not a fission weapon, it uses a fission weapon to trigger a fusion weapon.

the largest modern nuclear bomb was the Tsar Bomba, made by russia, with a power of 50,000,000 tons of TNT.

we do not use ICBMs (inter-continental ballistic missiles).
we use MIRVs (multiple independantly targetable re-entry vehicle).

they go up into the atmosphere, circle the earth in orbit, then come back down over the target.
the British missiles are the Trident 2's, each Trident MIRV contains 8–14 warheads, each warhead has either a yield of 100,000 tons or 455,000 tons.

we have 3 vanguard class submarines which carry these missiles, and each sub can carry 16 missiles.

meaning we have a max destructive capacity of 3x16x14 = 672 warheads x 455,000 tons = 305,760,000 tons of TNT.
