We haven't really had good capitalism yet. UO is the ultimate form of capitalism. Anyone can sell anything in-game. People used to sell raps and rhymes. Irl there's too much regulation. When you realize only 3 companies are allowed to sell something it's pretty annoying. Add in that not just anyone can start a business due to business licensing costs. In true capitalism one can setup a lemonade in the middle of times square with nothing but the stand and lemonade. I like one thing that trump did: the executive order that for every new regulation put in place they have to remove 2 others. Our government, idk about UK, has stuck their noses into too many things.

capitalism is not good really.. imo it's the idea that if we dig a hole, me and you, and we get paid $20, i get 15, and you get 5, because i own the shovels.

the way to get rich in capitalism is to own some capital, whether that's an intellectual property, monetary investments, or property like real estate. you dont get paid dependant on your work, you get paid dependent on what you own.

the one thing this does do tho, is leads to rapid progress because everyone is competing. effectively it's a system that eats people, in order to produce technological progress.

the idea being technological progress will free us from menial jobs (cos we have robots and stuff), then we can be communist because no-one has to get skanked for the system to work

Why wouldn't a person get paid more for owning a shovel? Especially if they invested money/time/materials into it. If there's no incentive to own a shovel then no one wants to invest in one. So the government owns the shovel and they start regulating who can wield the shovel.

good will? community?

this is why nations are important, you should not see other people as the other, then we can all get along and be allied in a common cause. this is why cultural homogeny is important

you should want other people to do well. their success is your success.

your government is supposed to be your union.
the problem is private business is now more powerful than the government.

see the thing is, if you get globalization through governments, then everyone has localized government, and a voice.
if you get globalization through private business, which is not beholden to any group of people, does not represent anyone, and can just stay in the nicer parts while others fail, then you have a centralized government as far away from it's people as possible.

that's basically the republicans and the democrats.

we live in a different world since globalization has become a reality, wealth used to be linked to land, so you had the land owners represented by the right, and the workers represented by the left. but now the workers parties have been usurped because they worked on public opinion, and you can change that with money, so what we have now is rich people who rely on the land, versus rich people that don't rely on any land.

that's why people vote for the right now, and why nationalism has become a big thing.

weirdly it boils down to if you trust history and the institutions of law and government that have evolved, or if you trust the tv.
if you respect the past, or if you think they were all backwards yokels, and we are now living in an age of enlightenment, where we dont need any of that crap.

frankly, i think they are trying to make people believe that so they give up the protections that prevent them being taken advantage of. a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, people start to think they know everything. add a little flattery.. could be a mass delusion type thing

there were some really smart people back in history, and think they knew the majority of people need protecting from themselves.

Want to know why private business is more powerful than government? The government protects them. Cuts down the competition. Take for instance the worst private business in the history of man the Treasury of the United States. It has set itself up so that the US government will always owe them. When you realize the US government borrows money with interest to pay back money borrowed with interest you can see they will never be debt free.

well it starts with the East India Company, United Fruit, etc, Bankers like Rothchilds, gold rush winners like the Rockerfellas, etc.

the Rothchild's took over the Bank of England with a dirty trick from the battle of Waterloo. that's very probably what the federal reserve is as well, and they keep tricking people into thinking it's a good idea

it's a bad but necessary system until we reach a good but currently impractical system

banks are just bastards tho, they are just a business that plays the system to rob people collectively

Necessary? It should have never existed. The solution is to drop the system and the gov needs to start printing. They pay for the interest on what they borrowed. It would be a rough few years, but in the long run it would be worth it.
