Other servers, no advertisement, osi free to play, no updates, Ryan (the owner) has pretty much abandoned the servers. I'm sure all the AFK bots and uosteam turn some people away as well.

It's more surprising the server is still up actually now that it has no income since the donation store is gone.

Not bashing the server but it's the truth. It's pretty hard to even find this server if you aren't already established here so with time the older players leave and we don't get many new players other than word of mouth.

U will always have cheaters and afkers in any game. No advertisement and missing donation store, though, is the big minus here. The donations store is missing for how long? 2 years? Sadly, noone can do the staff job, if they dont wanna do it.

I'd say it's just a symptom of a dying game. New servers pop up all the time. They get a bump and people get that nostalgia fix and come up with an excuse to quit because quite frankly they want it like they used to have it, but its never going to be that way.

Demise is what you make it. It isn't perfect, but it's stable and been around forever. Even if all the problems were fixed you'd still have people bitching about something. A less active staff means less chances they implement some dumb ass idea. Overall though it's not often advertised and when it is people complain about its shortcomings and fail to give it credit on it's strengths. Longevity being the main one.

Additionally other games have already opened up their winter event stuff, and once Demise opens Christmas Town you will see some people back just for that.

Lack of new content. As MrPink stated this keeps them from implementing bad stuff, but people eventually get bored running in circles. Some people have to force themselves to play by running a vendor.

ive seen more staff activity in the last week than i have in a year.

WoW classic is releasing this summer (ea should take notes...) so some people are brushing up on vanilla free servers rn too.

Not answering players and afk macroing is the first thing a new player see in haven.
That does not make a good impression on players looking for a new shard.

GM John is leading the biggest guild on shard, it demotivates people to play

Not sure exactly, but I have seen the staff being super active lately. A bunch of the afk farmers probably got caught and banned. That would be my guess, or players just grew bored and went to outlands? I know quite a few have already went there. Its so lonely now.
