Verification Needed Provocation In Felucca
Provocation In Felucca
Provocation and looting seems to be a little messed up in Felucca
We are not in a guild/alliance/party
So my bard (Silent) provokes an animal that isn't owned by anyone onto ( Syn) my tamer's cu
Read the journal or system message
My cu kills the animal
Doesn't this make the bard the aggressor?
The tamer went and carved up the corpse for the leather
The tamer became criminal after carving up the corpse her cu killed
Something isn't right
If the bard tried to do provoke an animal onto the tamer's pet in Trammel the bard would get a system message stating
You cannot perform negative acts on your target
So in Trammel it is a negative act
In Felucca it isn't?

Re: [NEW] Provocation In Felucca
Probably some bug related to the attacking pets exploit fix.

Re: Provocation In Felucca
I think provocation and looting is what needs to be looked at
It is strange how it works on Demise
The bard seems to only get credit fame/karma for the 1st target and not the 1st and 2nd target
So if the 2nd target beats up the 1st target the bard can not loot the corpse the bard does not get the fame/karma
Here is an example
Here are a para satyr and a regular satyr
I can not provoke the para satyr onto the regular satyr
So I provoke the regular satyr (1st target) onto the para (2nd target).....I even get a gain
The para kills the regular satyr
I do not have looting rights
The bard should get credit looting rights fame karma and even karma loss from/for both targets regardless of which target dies first

Re: Provocation In Felucca
On OSI it doesn't matter which target wins the fight
I get credit for both targets
Just like Demise
I provoke a bull onto a chicken and I can loot the corpse because the bull kills the chicken
Unlike Demise
I provoke a sheep onto a bull the bull kills the sheep I can loot the corpse
I get credit for both targets

Re: Provocation In Felucca
But there is still some weird stuff happening on Demise
If my first target gets killed by my second target I can loot the corpse of the first target but it seems only if my first target does damage to the second target
Here my first target is the regular centaur My second target is the para centaur
They fight
The regular centaur dies
I can loot the corpse

Re: Provocation In Felucca
I am not sure on how much damage needs to be done
Here my 1st target is the ettin the second target is the Cyclops
The ettin does little damage but I can still loot it after it dies

Re: Provocation In Felucca
It looks like a bard that provokes can not gain in valor at a champ spawn
I killed enough spawn to get 1 white candle at the Weald champ spawn ( the irony ) and enough to get 1 white candle at the Oaks champ spawn and when I checked my progress in the virtue I figured I would have at least 1 dot in the 1st path.................

Re: Provocation In Felucca
It seems that even if you succeed in starting a fight between 2 creatures they won't necessarily fight each other
I provoke the titan on the left onto the titan on the right and succeed. The titan on the left hits me with a spell and drops my DEX
The titan on the left is now locked on me. Meanwhile the titan on the right instead of walking over and fighting the other titan is fighting the furies though I succeeded in starting a fight between those 2 titans. So I decide to walk to the one on the right to lure the other titan.
Meanwhile another titan spawns ( top right) that will eventually make its way over to where I am
The titan on the left hits me with another spell and still ignores the other titan who is still fighting a fury
I drop a few more furies down and the titan on the right dies to them. The furies attack the titan that is left. The titan that was off screen makes it down to me. I again succeed in provoking it onto the one that was originally to the left of me.
And once again they do not fight each other they fight the furies

Re: Provocation In Felucca
Thats weird. For me no matter with one pet wins when i provoke cu shide vs cu shide can loot both if i stay visible on screen. When i use paragon cu to kill regular ones-can't loot but my karma loss as well.

Once again I start A fight this time with 2 cyclopean warriors
1 keeps fighting furies
The other one walks to me and starts hitting me
I am pretty sure I can do this with 0 musicianship and 0 provocation

Re: Provocation In Felucca
When a bard provokes 2 or more monsters into fighting each other and the bard does not do any damage does the bard’s luck get used?
I ask because if the bard provokes A onto B and if A does not do enough damage to B and dies the bard does not get looting rights to A’s corpse. So if the bard can not loot why would the bard’s luck be used? If the bard’s luck is used why no looting rights for the bard?
So how much luck do monsters have?

Re: Provocation In Felucca
The boy succeeded in provoking 3 titans onto the para titan and not one of the 3 are attacking the para. They are attacking the furies. These same furies were attacking the para. The para never attacked the titans
You can't expect him to take a screen shot of every successful provoking attempt. This screen shot gives you a time stamp if you want to check
I think the same result could happen without investing 240 skill points

Re: Provocation In Felucca
The way aggro works here maybe part of the issue. Quit throwing furies and make sure the "two" mobs are closer to each other than they are you. That should make it work, but is not a solution to the problem. Just a band-aid. Sounds like Eos will have to make the Provo override aggro, which it should.
It's very similar to the pet bug where if your pet is between you and the mob you can cast on it without aggroing. It's even to the point that if your pet is on all stay, you can be 12 tiles away and a mob spawns between you and the pet. If you attack it while it is 7 tiles away from you and 5 tiles from your pet, even though it's on all stay, it will aggro the pet. Then there's also tile priority. Mobs attack things on their news sides as opposed to ne se sw nw if both targets are with 1 tile. Also if there are 2 targets on the news sides the mob will generally aggro one for awhile then switch. If the target is on the same tile the mob attacks that target. It doesn't matter who starts the fight. This maybe what is occurring with your 4 Titans. From the SS you posted it appears 2 are attacking the paragon, but I'm sure they will\did switch aggro due to tile priority.

This whole skill ( dare I say server) looks like it was put together with band aidsThe Silvertiger wrote: ↑November 1st, 2019, 1:12 pm Just a band-aid. Sounds like Eos will have to make the Provo override aggro, which it should.
If your first target does not do enough damage to your second target no looting rights
It looks like you can not gain in Valor even if you actually add candles to the alter
Now instead of being within the range (tiles area) to attempt a provocation get closer.
You know something Chris I think you are on to something here about range
If the bard is not within range there is a system message but I have notice that the boy actually gets the message that he succeeded in starting a fight but the 2 targets never fight. When that has happened the 2 targets are pretty far apart though within the range (apparently)
