if anyone is wondering why he keeps talking about fresh spoo, it's a cantari food in babylon 5 (the centari are like an old fallen imperial empire - based on the british).
spoo is sorta like tofa/feta cheese - but you eat it aged. when G'kar goes to the palace he's eating some fresh spoo he found on a tray and Londo is like "that's disgusting, only a narn could eat spoo fresh. what is fresh spoo even doing in the palace.."

she's 100% right tho.. the difference is this time they have the colleges on side with them. in mao's they literally went and beat up all their teachers for trying to teach them about history and stuff.

i suppose maybe it is the same but the maoists are the ones teaching now.

the problem is, and i remember thinking this myself; it's hard to see how good intentions like those of communism, can becomes violent and destructive. i totally get it now but if you went back 10 years, i do remember thinking that.

it's a lot easier to see how the right wing argument can become negative. the left wing one is actually kinda more dangerous, cos it's a lot less obvious, which makes it a lot more convincing.
