The game isn’t even remotely the same as it was during AOS/SE.

I don’t really have any info on peace, but just making the point test on osi now isn’t the best option
Thank you but my wayback machine is in the shop currently

I guess we can all go by what others say and how others remember it

The videos I found I think were from 2013, earliest I could find though.

"If successful the creature will be kept calm until a sufficient attack breaks the trance or the bard looses line of sight for more than 10 seconds."

This imo is the biggest part that needs to be changed, I think wall of stone is “breaking LOS” but I don’t have confirmation on that.

Also I think being offscreen doesn’t do it either on demise (this is based on memory fighting mb’s Peacer).

What is " a sufficient attack " ?

The way I remember it
I would go to Ice with my bard
Peace the Ogre Lord
Cast 2 blade spirits
Sometimes the blade spirits would kill the Ogre Lord without the Ogre Lord attacking the blade spirits
Other times the Ogre Lord would slap at the blade spirits

Today using IP's Bard sometimes the Ogre Lord hit me

Other times today it never broke the barding

Idk but if it works like bandage disrupts it’s based on burst damage so like an explosion/Fs/Ebolt. On bandages I believe it’s 30 damage to make it slip, so maybe it’s similar thing on peacing.

But I’m sure that scales with difficulty/skill. I’m not 100% sure about actual damage, I haven’t found anything about it really.

When it broke, we’re you hitting your max range of damage?
Also, I guess it could function as a “chance to break” but that’d require pretty stable damage (like 1-2 damage difference) to test if it breaks sometimes and not others.

But from what your saying it seems like it’s a chance to break from any damage

Damage breaking the peacemaking effect is already implemented. (We are using a (max hp - current hp)/1000 chance every time a monster is damaged.) Furthermore, monsters also already take steps while peaced if they're being angered from taming. (In this case the peacemaking effect is disabled for a single tick of their AI.)

In other cases, pets will not walk around when peaced currently. This, I believe, is something that needs fixing.

Also, there is no LOS to bard check on Demise.

So uoguide from 2007 about line of sight is wrong? (Not 100% sure what you meant by bard check in that context).
I know this is how discord works on demise, Bc you train it and break LOS and it breaks disco, so I’d assume it works same for peacing considering the uoguide version from 2007.
I’ll do some testing later on osi, see if it works the same as described by 2007 uoguide and post my findings.

I remember monsters breaking the " trance " without taking "a sufficient attack "

Today that still happens

You can see that my stats changed in the 1st screen shot. I later open my journal to show that the "trance" was broken with it not taking "a sufficient attack " if you read the journal from the stat change down

I stated this in the accuracy thread: but how else do you propose testing?
If there are no changes concerning the mechanic, then the mechanic should still be the same. Please don't come in here with this is how I remember it. Bring documentation or expect to get how it currently works on OSI. I don't know if you are aware, but there isn't a 2008\early 09 server on OSI to test on. Being 10 years ago, I don't trust anyone's recollection. Not even mine.
