A help request by a newcomer fisherman

Thanks to all of you guys but I'm 90 o fishing I'm in dark waters with a normal fishing pole and I can't fish anything special.

Fishing loot is absolutely random even with appropriate skill.
My GM fisherman character may catch only a handful of white pearls and trophy fish and lure a few sea serpents carrying fishing nets and MIBs one day, then get attacked by almost a dozen sea serpents with MIBs while fishing on another day. Mind you, these are sessions of about 1-2 hours at sea.
Persistence is the name of the game.

it is fun, it's just not rly worth the time compared to other things you can do when you have end game gear
