I entered the game. Played for a few days. All characters are there. But my house and things in the house are all gone. Where is everything?

If you are inactive for a period of 2 (or 3?) months your houses go into decay process and subsequently fall down leaving everything that was in them on the ground. Research what an IDOC is.
If you have not registered your accounts with an email adress the period is a lot shorter - 1 (2?) weeks.
(Is it still possible to play without haveing an email adress connected to your account?)

I do not care. Previously, I was not in the game for 3-4 months, and that was it. Nothing was lost or destroyed.

Houses are ageless and do not decay as long as your account has been logged into in the past 90 days. If it’s been longer since your last login, your house will enter the 5-day decay process.
What are the stages of house decay?
Like new - 36 minutes
Slightly worn - 29 hours and 24 minutes
Somewhat worn - 30 hours
Fairly worn - 30 hours
Greatly worn - 24 hours
In danger of collapsing - 4 to 8 hours
In the case of rental vendors being on the house:
Demolition pending - Until all rental vendors and their inventories have expired." -Demise FAQ
