I can't write a private message... need help

I'm trying to contact a GM concerning my account and email, but I can't send them messages. My compose message menu says "We are sorry, but you are not authorized to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more in discussions to be able to use this feature."
Is there anyone using this "compose message" option? How can I contact them?
